How much can we DIT & what would it cost?

Reception:

30 x Strawberries decorated with blueberry & lavender, with sugar & cream
30 x Crudites: Bread (bread sticks/baguette/ciabatta)/pepper & carrot sticks with humous and pesto dip
30 x Cream cheese filled cherry tomatoes
30 x Crisps: vegetable, lime doritos, salt & vinegar pringles, plain walkers (or blue crisps?)
Peach/melon???

Iced tea; fruit punch; ginger beer; pink lemonade; Pimms; elderflower sparkle

Dinner:

90 x Sage infused hogroast, sage & onion stuffing, bread, sauce (Apple sauce, red onion marmalade, sage and calvados cream)
40 x Red/yellow pepper, red onion/shallot, courgettes, butternut squash skewers
40 x Potato, sweet potato & parsnip wedges
40 x Salad: rocket/cucumber/parmesan with olive oil & balsamic dressing, goats cheese/walnut/pear, spinach/cherry & sunblush tomato/mozzarella/basil with pesto
5 x Roasted Salmon, lemon & herb butter
5 x Broccoli & stilton tart

Smoked salmon & gravadlax platter

  1. The best way to give you a guide on food without staff or preparation is to go online and do a tesco's/waitrose shop order. Add everything you need and see what the end receipt would be. Normally you would allow for 1 of everything minimum for every guest (other than the vegetarians). You would need a separate BBQ to cook the vegetarian kebabs, unless they were prepared the day before. Laying out food/staffing/clearing and cleaning needs to be considered.

  2. Another thought: (not sure if you will like it though!)is to have a trestle table with washing up bowls, clothes and tea towels. It would be very rustic and thrifty to get the guests to wash up the own plates but would definitely cut down on costs/staffing. You could issue a plate and glass on arrival with their names on!
