Whilst looking again at you photos I wondered if you would consider having the drinks reception area based from the area on photo 967 and with the toilets in the area of photo 959 (in front of the fence). This is because of the placing of the sun from Midday onwards (the area suggested will have full sun until early evening. This is also a smaller area to decorate and we could place bales near the building as seating and to cover that slightly unattractive area. We could cover the path with petals and have lanterns hanging from the fence.
If you were as planned in front of the larger side of the barn you would have a fair walk around the fence to the toilets. If windy we would also be restricted on how many doors we could keep open. However if it was really windy and the windy came from the south we would be better leaving our plans as before. (I hope this has not confused you too much!)
Do you have any major preference to which side we decorate? do you intend to light up the whole barn inside and out with colour?
Would you consider a tin can alley? Tins placed on a table/wooden box with bean bags to throw. It could be a cheap way of keeping children and bigger boys happy. Also another idea is a horse shoe throwing game. Using real horse shoes and a post.
